Treated Wood Council

About the Organization

The Treated Wood Council (TWC) is a U.S.-based trade association, organized in 2003, that represents companies engaged in pressure-treated wood production, wood preservative manufacturers, sawmills and other firms serving the treated-wood supply chain. Its stated mission is to serve the treated wood industry in the field of government affairs by monitoring and responding to legislation and regulation affecting treated wood products.

Policy Goals

Typically pursues legislative and regulatory policies related to building codes and product acceptance, EPA pesticide registration and FIFRA-related matters for wood preservatives, environmental and wastewater rules affecting treated wood, worker safety and OSHA requirements, standards and certification for wood preservation, procurement and infrastructure specifications, transportation and hazardous materials rules, and policies affecting product stewardship, disposal and recycling.
