The U.S. Global Leadership Coalition (USGLC) is a broad-based nonpartisan coalition of businesses, NGOs, national security and foreign policy experts, faith and community leaders that advocates for strong U.S. global engagement by elevating diplomacy and development alongside defense. USGLC works to educate policymakers and the public about the strategic, economic, and humanitarian benefits of investing in civilian-led foreign assistance and diplomatic programs.
Advocacy for a robust International Affairs Budget; increased funding for the State Department and USAID; global health and humanitarian assistance (including PEPFAR and emergency relief); economic development and development finance; multilateral engagement and diplomacy; programs that link development to U.S. national security and economic interests.
Primarily funded through membership dues and corporate sponsorships, foundation grants, and individual donations from coalition members and supporters.
Coalition members and advisors have included major U.S. businesses and NGOs (e.g., Catholic Relief Services, World Vision, multinational corporate partners), a bipartisan advisory council of former secretaries of state and senior national security leaders (past figures include Colin Powell and Madeleine Albright), and an active board and staff led by President & CEO Liz Schrayer.
