United Egg Producers

About the Organization

United Egg Producers (UEP) is a U.S.-based cooperative trade association that represents commercial egg farmers and producer cooperatives. UEP develops and promotes industry standards (including animal husbandry and food-safety guidelines), coordinates disease response and biosecurity efforts, commissions research, and advocates on federal and state policy matters affecting egg production and marketing.

Policy Goals

Agricultural and food-safety regulation, farm animal welfare and husbandry standards, labeling and marketing rules for eggs and egg products, biosecurity and avian influenza response, trade and commodity policy, environmental and waste-management compliance, and producer-focused regulation and compliance issues.

Funding

Membership dues and assessments from egg producers and producer cooperatives, program fees and sponsored research funding.

Affiliates

State egg-producer associations, the American Egg Board, major commercial egg producers and regional cooperatives, and allied industry partners such as veterinary, feed, and processing groups.
