United Electrical, Radio & Machine Workers of America (UE) is a democratic, rank-and-file national labor union representing workers in manufacturing, public sector, and private service-sector jobs. It describes itself as an independent, member-run union focused on organizing workers and advancing their interests.
UE typically advocates for labor and workplace policies such as collective bargaining rights, the right to strike, labor law reform, safe and healthy workplaces, Medicare for All, public education, immigrant workers’ rights, anti-discrimination protections, women’s rights, disability rights, international solidarity, and pro-worker economic and foreign policy.
Primarily funded by member dues and related union contributions.
UE is independent and not affiliated with the AFL-CIO. Prominent leaders include national officers and local union leaders, such as UE President Carl Rosen and Secretary-Treasurer Mark Meinster.
