United for Respect is a national grassroots advocacy organization that organizes and amplifies the voices of low‑wage retail and warehouse workers. It grew out of the OUR Walmart campaign and seeks to win higher pay, stable schedules, safe workplaces, paid family leave, and greater worker influence over corporate and public policy through direct organizing, public campaigns, and targeted pressure on large employers.
Labor and workplace policy (living wages, fair scheduling, workplace safety), corporate accountability and governance for large employers, paid family and medical leave, economic and racial equity in the workforce, worker organizing and civic engagement initiatives.
Primarily philanthropic foundation grants and donations supplemented by grassroots/member fundraising and other nonprofit revenue; has received multi‑year grants from national foundations in recent years.
