USA Rice (legally USA Rice Federation) is the national trade association that advocates for the full U.S. rice value chain — growers, millers, merchants, processors and allied businesses — working to expand domestic and international markets, influence federal and state policy, fund industry research, and promote sustainability and conservation practices for U.S. rice production.
Advocacy on farm bill and crop safety‑net programs, crop insurance and disaster aid, trade and market access (export promotion, tariffs, phytosanitary rules), federal research and extension funding, conservation and sustainability initiatives, food safety and labeling, transportation and infrastructure policy affecting grain and port logistics, and regulatory issues affecting crop protection and inputs.
Primarily membership dues and industry program/service revenue (dues from growers, millers, merchants and corporate partners), plus sponsorships, voluntary foundation contributions and occasional federal or USDA grants for specific promotion or conservation programs.
Constituent groups within the federation (USA Rice Council, USA Rice Millers' Association, USA Rice Merchants' Association, USA Rice Farmers/Producers' Group), The Rice Foundation, state rice organizations (e.g., Arkansas Rice Federation, California Rice Commission, Louisiana, Texas and Mississippi rice groups), and senior leaders such as the organization's president & CEO and board leadership.
