The Vera Institute of Justice is a nonprofit, nonpartisan research and policy organization dedicated to improving justice systems to ensure fairness, promote safety, and strengthen communities. Founded in 1961, the organization works with government leaders and communities to advance evidence-based reforms in criminal justice, immigration, youth justice, and related systems.
Criminal justice reform, sentencing and incarceration policy, bail reform, youth justice, immigration detention and enforcement policy, policing practices, and efforts to reduce racial and economic disparities in the justice system.
