Virginia Christian Alliance is a state-based Christian advocacy organization founded in 2009 that promotes public policy and cultural positions from a conservative Biblical perspective. Its stated mission is to advance ‘moral, social and scientific issues’ informed by the Bible through education, publications, events, media outreach and grassroots mobilization.
Typically pursues socially conservative policies: anti‑abortion and pro‑life advocacy, promotion of traditional family and ‘biblical sexuality’ positions, support for religious expression in public life, promotion of creationism/Christian perspectives in education, parental rights in schools, and other cultural conservative priorities often framed as defending Christianity against secular influences.
Primarily funded by individual donors, local church support and small private contributions; fundraising appeals, donations and volunteer support are the organization’s principal revenue sources.
Virginia Christian Action (affiliated 501(c)(4)), The Council for Biblical Principles (merged into VCA), The Hosea Initiative (associated pro‑life group), and local conservative Christian leaders and advisors including Greene Hollowell, Steve Waters, Elaine Hanger, Don Blake, Terry Beatley, Dr. Scott Walsh and Dr. David DeWitt
