About the Organization

The Virginia Department of Veterans Services (VDVS) is a state government agency dedicated to serving Virginia’s veterans and their families. Its mission is to ensure that veterans receive the federal and state benefits, services, care, and support they have earned through military service, including assistance with claims, education, employment, housing, and long-term care.

Policy Goals

Veterans’ benefits administration, military and veterans affairs policy, healthcare access for veterans, education and workforce transition programs, behavioral health services, and long-term care services for veterans.
