Virginia Farm Bureau Federation (VFBF) is the largest nonprofit agricultural advocacy organization in Virginia, founded to represent and protect the interests of farmers and rural communities. VFBF advocates at the state and federal level, provides member services and education (including agricultural literacy programs), and supports farm and rural economic development while operating alongside affiliated insurance businesses that serve farmers and other Virginians.
Agricultural and farm policy, land use and property-rights protections (including eminent domain), conservation and best management practices, rural economic development, agricultural education and workforce issues, regulation affecting production agriculture (environmental permitting, water/soil), energy siting impacts on farmland, and insurance and risk-management matters for farmers and rural residents
Primarily funded by member dues and revenue from affiliated insurance operations, supplemented by program fees, sponsorships, and investment income
