About the Organization

The Virginia Grain Producers Association (VGPA) is a member-driven, nonprofit trade association representing Virginia’s corn and small grain producers, including growers of wheat, barley, rye, and oats. The organization advocates for, promotes, and enhances opportunities for grain farmers, representing their interests before state and federal policymakers and providing information, resources, and industry coordination to support a strong and competitive grain sector in the Commonwealth.

Policy Goals

Agricultural and farm policy, grain marketing and trade, regulatory and environmental policy affecting crop production, state and federal legislative advocacy for grain producers, and issues related to commodity checkoff programs and industry competitiveness

Funding

Primarily funded through member dues and contributions from grain producers, along with program service revenue

National Corn Growers Association; Virginia Corn Board; regional and national commodity and agricultural organizations

Legal Structure

Non-profit trade association organized as a 501(c)(6) business league
