The Virginia Grassroots Coalition is a volunteer-powered statewide coalition that brings together more than 50 local progressive and community groups in Virginia to coordinate voter mobilization, issue advocacy, candidate support, and legislative organizing during the General Assembly session; its mission is to amplify grassroots power to elect progressive candidates and advance progressive policy priorities across the Commonwealth.
Voter registration and turnout, voting rights and election advocacy, support for progressive/Democratic candidates, reproductive rights, healthcare access, climate and environmental justice, criminal justice reform, public education and local government accountability.
Primarily small-dollar donations and member contributions, in-kind volunteer labor and local fundraising; occasionally supported by grants or partnerships with allied progressive organizations.
Allied progressive groups and networks such as Network NOVA, local Indivisible chapters and community groups across Virginia, and partnerships with movements like Money Out of Politics and other state-level progressive coalitions.
