The Washington Education Association (WEA) is the statewide labor union representing public school educators and education support professionals in Washington. WEA advocates for strong public schools, collective bargaining rights, equitable school funding, professional development, and policies intended to improve student outcomes and working conditions for educators.
Public school funding and resource equity; teacher and staff pay, benefits, and pensions; collective bargaining and labor rights; class-size limits and staffing levels; special education and student support services; professional development and certification; opposition to privatization and unchecked charter expansion; racial and educational equity initiatives.
Primarily member dues from educators and school employees, supplemented by grants, donations, and limited fundraising activities.
