The Washington Federation of State Employees (WFSE) is a statewide labor union representing roughly 45,000–50,000 Washington public employees. WFSE organizes state and other public service workers to negotiate collective bargaining agreements, protect workplace rights, and advocate for strong public services and working conditions across the state.
Advances collective bargaining rights and contract enforcement, higher public-sector wages and benefits, retirement and healthcare protections, workplace safety and anti-discrimination measures, opposition to privatization/contracting out of public services, and state budget priorities that fund public services and public employees.
Primarily funded by member dues and internal union assessments, supplemented by AFSCME-affiliate support and funds for political activity held in separate union political/SSFs as allowed by law.
