The Washington Federation of State Employees (WFSE), AFSCME Council 28, is a statewide labor union that represents tens of thousands of Washington state and public service employees across dozens of state agencies and higher education campuses. WFSE organizes workers, negotiates collective bargaining agreements, enforces workplace protections, and advocates for public services and labor-friendly policies at the state level.
Collective bargaining and contract enforcement for public employees; campaigns for higher wages, benefits, pensions and workplace safety; staffing and workload standards; protection of public-sector labor rights; and advocacy for funding and policies that support public services.
Primarily funded by member dues and assessments, supplemented by affiliated union support and member-directed political/advocacy contributions.
