The Washington Food Industry Association (WFIA) is a statewide non‑profit trade association founded in 1899 that represents independent supermarkets, convenience stores, wholesalers, suppliers and other retail food businesses in Washington State. WFIA’s stated mission is to advocate, educate and elevate the interests of neighborhood grocers, convenience and specialty retailers and their supply chain through government relations, member services, industry programs and educational events.
Advocacy on state and local business and regulatory issues affecting grocery and convenience retail, including workforce and workers' compensation policy, licensing and regulatory compliance, food safety and public health rules, taxes and fees, supply‑chain and distribution matters, local zoning and permitting, fuel and EV charging site policy, small business support and workforce development, and related industry ballot and legislative measures.
