Washington Physicians for Social Responsibility (WPSR) is the Washington state chapter of Physicians for Social Responsibility, a health-professional-led advocacy organization that mobilizes physicians, nurses, scientists and community members to protect public health by addressing the climate crisis, nuclear weapons, and economic inequity through education, community organizing, research, and policy advocacy.
Climate and environmental health (air quality, fossil fuel phase-out, clean energy, resilient healthcare systems); nuclear weapons abolition, arms control and related public health impacts; economic inequity and social determinants of health including housing justice and progressive taxation; science-based public health protections and health equity initiatives.
Primarily funded by individual donations and membership dues, philanthropic foundation grants, plus revenue from events and contributions; donations are tax-deductible.
Physicians for Social Responsibility (national) and regional coalitions such as Northwest Against Nuclear Weapons (NWANW); partnerships with local environmental, faith, labor and public health organizations.
