The Washington Public Utility Districts Association (WPUDA) is the statewide membership association that represents Washington State public utility districts (PUDs). WPUDA’s mission is to advocate for and support locally owned, publicly governed utilities by providing legislative and regulatory advocacy, policy analysis, education, training, and coordination to help PUDs deliver reliable, affordable electricity, water, sewer, and broadband services to their communities.
State and federal utility and energy policy, public power and ratepayer protections, water and wastewater policy, broadband deployment and funding, infrastructure investment and resilience, emergency preparedness and wildfire mitigation, regulatory compliance and environmental permitting, taxation and revenue policies affecting public utilities.
Primarily funded by membership dues and fees from Washington public utility districts, along with revenue from conferences, trainings, and sponsorships.
Member public utility districts across Washington State and collaborative relationships with statewide and national public power organizations and utility stakeholders.
