About the Organization

The Washington State Association of Head Start and ECEAP (WSA) is a statewide nonprofit membership organization representing Head Start, Early Head Start, Migrant/Seasonal Head Start, Native American Head Start and Washington's state-funded ECEAP programs. WSA advocates for equitable, anti-racist early learning and comprehensive family services, provides statewide professional development and training, promotes parent leadership, and coordinates policy and program collaboration to serve children and families farthest from opportunity.

Policy Goals

Advocacy for sustained and increased public funding for Head Start and ECEAP, equitable and anti-racist early learning policy, workforce development and professional development for early childhood educators, family support and health/nutrition services, expanded access to high-quality preschool and early intervention, and parent leadership and community engagement.

Funding

Primarily funded through member dues and fees, state and federal grants and contracts, fee-for-service training and professional development (via its training arm), and philanthropic grants and sponsorships.
