The Washington State Governor's Office is the chief executive office of the State of Washington. It develops and advances the governor’s policy agenda, supervises and coordinates executive branch agencies, proposes the biennial state budget, represents the state in federal and intergovernmental matters, and directs statewide response to emergencies and natural disasters.
State budget and appropriations, public health and emergency response, K–12 and higher education, transportation and infrastructure, economic development and workforce policy, environmental and climate regulation, natural resource management, housing and social services, public safety and criminal justice policy, regulatory implementation and administrative rulemaking.
Funded through the State of Washington’s budget appropriations (general fund and dedicated funds), supplemented by federal grants and program-specific fees as administered through state agencies.
Governor, Lieutenant Governor, Governor’s cabinet and senior staff, Washington State agencies (for example Department of Health, Department of Transportation, Department of Ecology), and regular coordination with the Washington State Legislature and federal partners.
