About the Organization

The Washington State Public Health Association (WSPHA) is a statewide non‑profit membership organization representing public health professionals, agencies, and partners in Washington. WSPHA works to protect and improve the health of communities through policy advocacy, workforce development, capacity building, and advancing health equity and evidence‑based public health practice.

Policy Goals

Advocacy for public health funding and infrastructure, communicable disease prevention and immunization, chronic disease and tobacco control, environmental health and climate‑related health protection, emergency preparedness and response, health equity and addressing social determinants of health, and public health workforce development and training.

Funding

Primarily funded by member dues and event/training registration fees, supplemented by grants and contracts from foundations and government agencies and philanthropic donations.

Affiliates

Local health jurisdictions across Washington State, the Washington State Department of Health, the American Public Health Association, regional public health partners, and academic public health programs.
