About the Organization

The Western Urban Water Coalition (WUWC) is a coalition of major metropolitan water providers in the western United States that collaborates on water supply research, policy analysis, and resource management strategies. Its mission is to promote sustainable, reliable urban water supplies through data-driven research and coordinated policy engagement on issues affecting western water systems.

Policy Goals

WUWC typically engages on federal and state legislative policies related to water supply reliability, drought resilience, water conservation, climate adaptation, infrastructure funding, Colorado River management, groundwater regulation, and western water rights.

Funding

WUWC is primarily funded through membership dues from participating municipal water utilities.

Affiliates

Member agencies include major western urban water providers such as the Metropolitan Water District of Southern California, Denver Water, the Southern Nevada Water Authority, the Central Arizona Project, and other large municipal water utilities.
