About the Organization

Youth MOVE National (Motivating Others through Voices of Experience) is a youth‑led, chapter‑based nonprofit that connects, trains, and mobilizes young people with lived experience to lead advocacy, peer support, and systems change in youth mental health, juvenile justice, child welfare, education, and related service systems.

Policy Goals

Advocacy for youth mental health and peer support policy, crisis response and 988 implementation, suicide prevention, youth workforce development and peer certification, authentic youth engagement and decision‑making in systems, juvenile justice and child welfare reform, school‑based mental health access, and equity‑focused culturally affirming services for young people.

Funding

Primarily federal grants and government contracts (e.g., SAMHSA, HRSA), foundation and philanthropic grants, fee‑for‑service contracts for training/technical assistance, and individual donations.

Affiliates

Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA), Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA), American Academy of Pediatrics, National Federation of Families for Children’s Mental Health, state and local Youth MOVE chapters, and participation on national advisory bodies such as the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline advisory council.
