AARP Virginia is the state office of AARP, a nonprofit membership and advocacy organization focused on improving quality of life for people age 50 and older in Virginia through policy advocacy, education, member services, community programs, and voter engagement.
Health care access and affordability (including Medicare/Medicaid and prescription drug costs), Social Security and retirement security, caregiving and long-term services and supports, consumer protection and fraud prevention, livable communities (housing, transportation, broadband), and protections against age discrimination.
Primarily funded by membership dues and program/service revenue, supplemented by fees and revenue from partnerships and licensed services (including insurance partnerships), with charitable grants and donations routed through affiliated entities such as AARP Foundation.
