About the Organization

The American Association of Nurse Anesthesiology (AANA) is a national professional association representing Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists (CRNAs) and student nurse anesthetists. Founded in 1931, its mission is to advance patient safety and excellence in anesthesia care through advocacy, education, practice support, and research.

Policy Goals

Healthcare workforce policy, scope of practice and licensure laws, Medicare and Medicaid reimbursement, veterans’ health policy, patient safety standards, opioid and pain management policy, and regulatory matters affecting advanced practice registered nurses
