About the Organization

The American Farm Bureau Federation (AFBF) is a nationwide, membership-based organization that represents farmers, ranchers, and rural communities. It advocates for policies to support agricultural production, market access, farm income, and rural prosperity while providing services, information, and legal/policy representation for its members.

Policy Goals

Federal and state agricultural policy including farm bill and commodity supports, crop insurance and risk management, trade and market access, rural development and infrastructure, tax and regulatory policy affecting agriculture, energy and biofuels policy, conservation and natural resources policy, and labor/immigration policies relevant to farm labor.

Funding

Primarily funded by member dues and state/county Farm Bureau contributions, supplemented by program fees, events, sponsorships, and contributions from agribusiness and allied industry partners.

Affiliates

State and county Farm Bureaus across the U.S., allied commodity and agribusiness groups, and an affiliated political action committee and state-level lobbying organizations.
