BUILD America 250 would invest major federal funding from 2027 to 2031 in highways, bridges, transit, rail, freight, and safety. It would speed project approvals, expand bridge repair, truck parking, rail crossing safety, rural transit, and disaster recovery, and tighten rail and trucking safety rules. It also adds annual federal fees for electric and plug-in hybrid cars and ends some climate and neighborhood equity grant programs.
