About the Organization

Catskill Mountainkeeper is a regional environmental advocacy organization founded in 2006 that works to protect the Catskill Park and surrounding region in New York. Its mission is to safeguard the area’s natural resources, promote sustainable development, support resilient local communities, and advance a transition to clean energy through policy advocacy, public education, and coalition-building.

Policy Goals

Environmental protection, land use and conservation policy, opposition to fossil fuel infrastructure, renewable energy and climate policy, watershed protection, sustainable economic development, environmental justice, and public funding for stewardship and park management.

Funding

Primarily funded through tax-deductible individual donations, foundation grants, donor-advised funds, and fundraising campaigns.

Affiliates

Collaborates with organizations such as Riverkeeper, the Natural Resources Defense Council, the Catskill Center for Conservation and Development, Parks and Trails New York, and local tourism and conservation groups; led by Executive Director Ramsay Adams.
