About the Organization

The American Wood Council (AWC) is a national trade association representing North American manufacturers of wood products used in construction. Its mission is to advocate for the use of wood in buildings through code development, technical guidance, sustainability initiatives, and public policy engagement.

Policy Goals

Building codes and standards, construction safety regulations, sustainable forestry and environmental policy, housing and infrastructure policy, fire safety standards, and trade policies affecting wood products.

Funding

Membership dues and contributions from wood product manufacturers and related industry stakeholders.

Affiliates

American Forest & Paper Association; Softwood Lumber Board; National Association of Home Builders; major U.S. lumber and engineered wood product manufacturers.
