About the Organization

The Center for Common Ground is a nonpartisan, Black- and women-led voting rights nonprofit founded in 2018 that educates and mobilizes underrepresented BIPOC voters in states with high rates of voter suppression using phone banking, texting, postcard campaigns and community 'Democracy Centers.'

Policy Goals

Voting rights and access, anti-voter suppression measures, voter registration and turnout, restoration of rights for returning citizens, election administration and civic engagement programs targeted to communities of color.

Funding

Primarily small-dollar individual donations, grassroots fundraising and crowdfunding, supplemented by foundation grants and public contributions.

Affiliates

Local on-the-ground partner organizations and volunteer networks in target states (e.g., Alabama, Arizona, Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Texas, Virginia) and community programs such as Students for Voting Justice.
