About the Organization

The Children’s Forum is a statewide, not-for-profit membership organization based in Tallahassee that works to improve the quality, affordability and availability of early care and education in Florida. Its mission centers on strengthening the early learning workforce and connecting educators, programs and families to training, scholarships, data systems and supports that promote positive outcomes for children aged 0–8.

Policy Goals

Advocacy and policy work focused on early childhood education and the early learning workforce, including workforce compensation and retention, professional development and credentialing, scholarship and stipend programs (e.g., T.E.A.C.H., INCENTIVE$), state funding for early learning programs and subsidies, licensing and quality standards, and data systems for workforce planning (Professional Development Registry).

Funding

Mix of state and federal contracts and program grants, foundation grants and philanthropic donations, membership dues and fees for services and training.

Affiliates

Partners and collaborators include Florida Department of Children and Families, Florida Department of Education/Division of Early Learning, local Early Learning Coalitions, T.E.A.C.H. Early Childhood (state program administered through the Forum), INCENTIVE$ Florida and The Children’s Trust; organizational leaders include the Forum's executive leadership and volunteer board (e.g., President & CEO and Board Chair).
