The Congressional Progressive Caucus (CPC) is an informal membership group of progressive members of the U.S. House of Representatives that coordinates policy positions, legislative strategy, and public messaging to advance a left-leaning agenda focused on economic, social, and environmental justice.
Expanded social safety net and anti-poverty programs, progressive taxation and economic justice, Medicare expansion/health care reform, strong labor and worker protections, aggressive climate action and a Green New Deal–style agenda, criminal justice reform, immigration reform and immigrant protections, voting rights and campaign finance reform, civil rights and reproductive rights
Not a separately incorporated fundraising entity; activities are supported by congressional member resources and staff allowances, with policy and grassroots support often provided by allied progressive advocacy groups and outside donors
Progressive advocacy organizations such as Progressive Democrats of America, Justice Democrats, Sunrise Movement, MoveOn; prominent associated House members have included Pramila Jayapal, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Ilhan Omar, and Mark Pocan (membership varies over time)
