About the Organization

Emily’s Hope is a South Dakota-based nonprofit founded by journalist Angela Kennecke in memory of her daughter Emily. It works to reduce substance use disorder stigma and save lives through prevention education, naloxone distribution, recovery support, and assistance with treatment access.

Policy Goals

Substance use prevention, overdose reversal and naloxone access, recovery and treatment support, youth prevention education, and public health efforts related to fentanyl and other addictive substances.
