The Office of Management and Budget (OMB) is a component of the Executive Office of the President responsible for assisting the President in overseeing the preparation of the federal budget and supervising the administration of federal agencies. OMB evaluates the effectiveness of agency programs, reviews significant federal regulations, and ensures that agency actions align with the President’s policies and priorities.
Federal budget development and execution, regulatory review and oversight, government performance management, procurement policy, information technology and cybersecurity policy, and coordination of executive branch legislative and administrative initiatives.
Funded through annual appropriations by the United States Congress as part of the Executive Office of the President budget.
