About the Organization

The Florida State Conference of the NAACP is the state-level branch of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People that organizes Black communities and allied groups across Florida to advance civil rights, combat racial discrimination, and promote social and economic justice through advocacy, public education, legal action, and community organizing.

Policy Goals

Advocacy for voting rights and opposition to voter suppression, criminal justice reform and police accountability, education equity and school funding fairness, economic opportunity and anti-discrimination in employment and housing, healthcare access and public health equity, fair redistricting and increased civic participation.

Funding

Membership dues, individual donations and fundraising events, grants from foundations and philanthropic partners, and occasional program-specific grants or contributions.

Affiliates

National NAACP, local Florida NAACP branches (e.g., county and city branches), legal and civil rights organizations such as the NAACP Legal Defense and Educational Fund, and allied civic groups including state chapters of national advocacy organizations.
