A community-based coalition in the Tampa Bay region that brings together dental professionals, public health agencies, community health centers, schools and advocacy organizations to advance oral health equity through prevention, education, care coordination and policy work.
Promotes expanded access to preventive and restorative dental care (including Medicaid-related access), school-based sealant and screening programs, community water fluoridation, integration of oral health into primary care, workforce development, and targeted initiatives to reduce oral health disparities.
Primarily funded by a mix of public health grants (federal, state, and county), foundation and philanthropic grants, sponsorships from local health providers and member contributions.
Typical partners include county public health departments, community and federally qualified health centers, local dental societies and clinics, regional hospitals and health systems, academic public health programs (for example regional universities), and community funders such as United Way and local foundations.
