The International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers (IAM) is a North American labor union that represents workers in aerospace, aviation, defense, transportation, manufacturing and related industries. The IAM organizes for collective bargaining, workplace safety, skills training and retirement security while advocating for pro-labor public policy that protects industrial and aerospace jobs.
Collective bargaining and contract enforcement; wages, benefits and pension security; workplace health and safety; apprenticeship and workforce training programs; industrial and trade policies to protect manufacturing and aerospace jobs; transportation and airline labor regulation; and support for pro-labor candidates and labor law reform.
Primarily funded by member dues and assessments, with supplemental revenue from investments, member training fees and voluntary contributions to its political and advocacy funds.
Affiliated with the AFL-CIO and Canadian labor counterparts; operates a national political action committee (IAM PAC) and numerous state and local lodge affiliates; collaborates with other national unions and pro-labor advocacy organizations.
