About the Organization

Living United for Change in Arizona (LUCHA) is a Phoenix-based, membership-led grassroots organization founded in 2009–2010 to advance social, racial, and economic justice. It organizes low- and moderate-income and minority families through leadership development, community organizing, ballot initiatives, and civic engagement to build political power and promote equal rights, opportunities, and protections for all Arizonans.

Policy Goals

Civil rights and immigrant rights, voting rights and voter engagement, minimum wage and paid sick leave, affordable housing and economic justice, public education funding, healthcare access, and broader state and local progressive policy initiatives.

Funding

Primarily funded through foundation grants and contributions from philanthropic organizations and aligned nonprofits, along with individual donations.

Affiliates

Affiliate of Popular Democracy; collaborates with labor and community groups such as the Arizona AFL-CIO; current and former leaders include Executive Director Alejandra Gomez and founder Tomas E. Robles Jr.
