The Muslim Public Affairs Council (MPAC) is a national American Muslim advocacy organization founded in 1988 that works to promote a positive and accurate understanding of Islam and Muslims in the United States. Headquartered in Los Angeles with offices in Washington, D.C., MPAC engages in public policy, media relations, and community outreach to advance civil rights, civic engagement, and policies consistent with its understanding of Islamic values and American democratic principles.
MPAC typically pursues legislative policies related to civil rights protections, anti-discrimination measures, religious freedom, national security and counterterrorism reform, hate crime prevention, immigration policy, criminal justice reform, and increased civic participation for American Muslims.
