The National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB) is a U.S.-based membership organization that represents small and independent businesses, providing advocacy, research, legal support, and resources to advance policies it says will foster a favorable operating environment for owners and entrepreneurs.
Advocates for tax and regulatory relief for small businesses, reduced compliance burdens, access to capital, tort and healthcare reform favorable to small employers, employer-friendly labor and employment policies, and state-level policies that support entrepreneurship and small-business growth; frequently opposes regulations and mandates it views as burdensome to small firms.
Primarily funded by member dues and fees, supplemented by event revenue, program and research funding, and political contributions through affiliated PAC activity.
