The National Mining Association (NMA) is the primary U.S. trade association representing producers of coal, metals and industrial minerals and the suppliers that serve them. NMA’s mission is to promote the value of mining to the U.S. economy and to advocate for policies that ensure access to critical mineral resources, safe and environmentally responsible operations, efficient permitting, and a skilled workforce.
Advocacy for mining‑friendly regulatory and permitting reform, federal land access and mineral policy, mine safety and health, environmental stewardship and reclamation standards, energy and tax policy affecting extractive industries, critical‑minerals and supply‑chain security, workforce development and training, and international trade issues impacting U.S. mining.
Primarily funded by membership dues, sponsorships and fees from mining companies, equipment and service suppliers, and industry stakeholders.
