The National Shooting Sports Foundation (NSSF) is the trade association for the firearms, ammunition and outdoor sports industry, working to promote, protect and preserve hunting and the shooting sports while supporting industry growth, safety programs, training and public education.
Advocates for policies favorable to the firearms and shooting-sports industry, including market access and commerce issues, liability protections for manufacturers and dealers, state preemption and firearms law uniformity, support for hunting and range access, voluntary safety and training programs, and opposition to regulatory or legislative measures the industry views as unduly restrictive.
Primarily funded by membership dues and fees from firearm and ammunition manufacturers, distributors, retailers, ranges and related industry businesses, plus event sponsorships and program revenues.
