About the Organization

Popular Democracy, formally the Center for Popular Democracy, is a national network of grassroots organizations that works to build political power for Black, brown, and low-income communities and to advance a multiracial democracy. It supports community organizing, narrative change, and coordinated advocacy through its affiliate network.

Policy Goals

Economic justice, workers’ rights, voting rights and democracy, climate justice, healthcare, housing, immigrant rights, and criminal legal reform

Funding

Primarily funded by philanthropic donations and grants, along with individual contributions; it also accepts support through related affiliated entities

Affiliates

A network of 47 grassroots affiliate organizations across 32 states, Washington, D.C., and Puerto Rico; affiliated entities include Popular Democracy in Action and Popular Democracy PAC

Legal Structure

Non-profit advocacy organization (with affiliated 501(c)(4) and PAC entities)
