The Family Foundation of Virginia (branded as The Family Foundation) is a Richmond-based, faith-based public policy organization that describes its mission as preserving and promoting the family in Virginia according to a biblical worldview. It conducts policy research, public education, grassroots mobilization, and advocacy at the state and local level on issues it frames as supporting families, faith, and religious liberty.
Advocacy for restrictions on abortion and promotion of pro-life policies, support for traditional marriage policies and opposition to measures expanding legal recognition of same-sex relationships, promotion of parental rights and influence over school curricula, pursuit of religious liberty protections and exemptions for faith-based entities, opposition to policies expanding gender identity recognition and certain nondiscrimination measures as framed by the organization
Primarily private donations from individuals and faith-based supporters, charitable grants and event revenue; the organization also operates an affiliated 501(c)(4) vehicle for political activity that accepts political contributions
