The Freedom Index is a legislative scorecard and public-information project produced by the John Birch Society that rates elected officials and legislation according to the Society's principles of limited government, constitutional originalism, national sovereignty, and opposition to globalist institutions. The John Birch Society, founded in 1958, is a conservative grassroots organization that describes its mission as educating Americans about what it views as threats from collectivist or internationalist policies and promoting patriotism and constitutional government.
