The Virginia Municipal League (VML) is a nonpartisan, membership-based association that represents Virginia cities and towns. VML provides legislative advocacy, policy development, training, technical assistance, and shared services to strengthen local government capacity and promote municipal interests at the state and federal levels.
Typically pursues municipal priorities including local government finance and revenue sharing, land use and planning, transportation and infrastructure, public safety, economic development, intergovernmental relations, and capacity-building services for city and town officials.
Primarily funded by membership dues from Virginia cities and towns, fees for conferences and professional services, program service revenues, and sponsorships and grants.
