About the Organization

Greenpeace USA is the United States national office of Greenpeace, an international environmental organization that conducts independent research, public campaigns, lobbying, and nonviolent direct action to expose environmental harms and advance solutions to climate change, ocean and forest protection, and pollution reduction.

Policy Goals

Climate change mitigation and rapid decarbonization, opposing new fossil fuel development, promoting renewable energy and energy efficiency, ocean and forest conservation, eliminating toxic chemicals and single-use plastics, protecting biodiversity and indigenous rights, corporate accountability and environmental justice

Funding

Primarily funded by individual donors and charitable foundation grants; does not accept corporate or government funding to avoid conflicts of interest
