This bill would require most new passenger vehicles sold in the U.S. to include easy-to-use AM radio as a standard feature. Until that rule takes effect, cars without AM radio must clearly warn buyers and cannot charge extra to add it. The goal is to keep drivers connected to local news and emergency alerts during disasters. It could improve public safety, but may also limit automaker design choices and add some cost.
